Q1: Can you handle ‘Airfreight’ or do you only handle ‘Seafreight”?
A: Yes, we can handle all types of freight, both Import and Export. We can also handle Breakbulk as well such as Machinery, Yachts, Steel, Aircraft and Motor Vehicles.
Q2: Can you handle the whole importing or exporting process for me?
A: Yes. We are a one-stop shipping agent solutions service. We like to make the process simple for you. All you need to do is let us know that you have placed an order with your supplier, give us your supplier details and we handle the rest.
The next time you need to consider your shipment is when it is ready to be delivered to you and we will let you know this a few days before hand.
Or in the instance of export, just let us know that you have an order placed from your client and we will look after the rest.
Q3: We have been told we need a Quarantine Import Permit, how do I do this?
A: Don’t worry, we are experienced in the application for Import Permits and we can handle this for you, ensuring that you have the correct Import Permit for your product.
Q4: We have just imported a motor vehicle and no one told us that we need a Motor Vehicle Import Permit. What do we do?
A: The Import permit should be applied for before you ship the motor vehicle, however we are able to assist you to obtain your permit. We can reduce your storage fees whilst the Import Permit application is in process by moving the vehicle to a Customs bond.
Q5: Hi , I’m overseas buying at the moment and I’m just about to buy ………………… Are there any problems with this product?
A: I am available for you to call me at anytime and ask this question. I would much rather that you DID call me rather than buy the product, pack it into your container and then we have problems with either Customs or Quarantine.
In most instances I will ask that you take a photo on your phone of the product and send it to me by SMS. I can advise you over the phone what issues may arise if any. One phone call could save you thousands.
Q6: I am importing a product into Australia that I know no one in Australia manufactures. I am paying a high duty on this product, is there anything we can do?
A: Yes there is. Customs have a form of duty exemption for products that can only be obtained by importing. This is called a Tariff Concession Order. There is a process to go through in order to determine whether your product could attract that Tariff Concession Order. It may well be that there is already a Tariff Concession Order in place that we can apply to your product without having to make a new application.
Q7: I pay a lot of GST with my Customs Entry every time I Import. Can I pay it with my BAS?
A: Yes you can. You can apply for GST deferral. There are restrictions on who can apply for this, however we can assist you with the process.
Q8: Can I customs clear my own product?
A: It is not advisable. Whilst the facility is there for you to be able to customs clear your own product it is a highly complicated process with major penalties for incorrect information.
Customs Brokers like ourselves can only be licensed after 3 years of study and many years of experience. We are experienced in ensuring that your company is adhering to the strict Customs and Quarantine laws.
Q9: I only have a pallet of product. Do I have to import a whole container?
A: No, we can ship this either by airfreight or seafreight. Seafreight is known as LCL. This is where we share a container with many other importers and therefore you only pay for what you take up in the container.
You can ship as much or as little as you like by either airfreight or seafreight, however the more you ship the more cost effective it becomes for freight.
